Royal Nairobi club professional golfer Mohit Mediratta edged out Dismas Indiza to win the penultimate of Safari Tour golf series on par 71 Muthaiga Golf club.
At the play-offs, Medirata fired a birdie in the 13th, par on 17th par and a par in the 18th while Indiza sunk a par in the 13th, another par in the 17th and 18th.
After tying on three under par 281, the duo were subjected to a play in holes 16, 17 and 18 with Mediratta winning the title ahead of next week’s final round at the Karen Golf club that will host the Magical Kenya Open Golf Championships next month.
Indiza, who led in round two and three, fired +1 72 while the champion managed to play level to tie at the top.
in the four rounds, Mumias based Indiza fired 72, 65, 76 and 72 while Mediratta managed 69, 72, 69, 71 for the title while Zimbabwean Robson Chinhoi completed the podium with -2 as Zambian Dayne Moore played -1 as the only golfers to play under par.
