Menengai Oilers successfully defended the Impala Floodlit title following their victory against Nondescript in a final match played this evening at the Impala ground, Nairobi.
The Nakuru based club won 32-20 to retain the title won last year as Nodnies were chasing their maiden title they last won way back in 2012.
Oilers Captain Ibrahim Ayoo was the first to touch down with a converted try for 7-0.
The Gibson Weru coached side squeezed in the second uncoverted try by Chrispine Shitundo for 12-0 then Nondies pulled courtesy of Ryan Odrua’s converted try for 12-07 but Oilers added another unconverted try to extend the lead to 17—07 before reduced the lead with a try from Odrua for 17-12.
Omela converted Aturo’s try to extend the lead to 24-12 then Odhiambo scored a penalty for Nondies for 24-15 then a try for 24-20 as Oilers Beldad Ogeta scored a try for 29-20 then a penalty to 32-20 for the title.
In the bronze medal, Kenyatta University side Blak Blad edged out hosts Impala Saracens in the earlier match.
