World 800m champion Mary Moraa, double world cross country champion Beatrice Chebet and upstart Brian Komen were the winners of yesterday’s Doha Diamond League held on Doha, Qatar.
The Commonwealth Games 800m champion Moraa won the 800m title after clocking 1:57.91 ahead of Great Britain’s jemma Reekie (1:58.42) and Benin’s Noelie Yarigo in 1:58.70.
Chebet, also the Commonwealth Games 5,000m and former world under 20 5,000m champion won the 5,000m title at 14:96.28 beating a host of Ethiopians led by Ejgayehu Taye (14:29.26) and compatriot Medina Eisa at 14:34.11.
Little known Komen won the 1,500m title after clocking 3:32.43 leading two time world 1,500m champion Timothy Cheruiyot (3:32.67) and Reynold Kipkorir Cheruiyot completing the race in 3:32.96 in an all Kenyan podium sweep for Kenya.
