Twenty year old Elvis Muigua won Sigona Bowl, the opening leg of Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC) that teed off at the par 72 Sigona Golf Club.
The Kiambu junior players fired five under par 211 in the three day tournwment that started on Friday to today, beating title defending champion and club mate Michael Karanga and Kenya Railways John lejirma who tied at three over par 219.
Muigua, who is also part of team Kenya for the 2024 Victoria Cup that will be played over the weekend at the Kampala golf club started off with -4 68 in round one on Friday followed by a one over par 73 and managed to sink two under 72 in the final round for the title.
He will be traveling to Uganda alongside Karanga, Lejirma, Eldoret’s Danny Chelogoi, Nyali’s Adel Balala, Vetlab pair of Ebill Omollo and Krish Beiju, Josphat Rono from Golf park and Sammy Mulama of Mombasa and they will be captained by Limuru’s Dennis Maara.
