Athletics Kenya track and field weekend meet kicks off this weekend at the Mumias Sports Complex in Kakamega County.
As the first leg of the federation’s track and field event, was supposed to start tomorrow, Friday 7th to 8th, it has been reduced to one day and it shall be held on Saturday 8th at the same venue.
According to the federation’s statement, it explained that the adjustment was made owing to unavoidable circumstances.
“Due to unavoidable circumstances, the 1st AK Track and Field Weekend Meet that was set to be held at the Mumias Sports Complex on November 7 and 8, 2025, will now only be held on November 8th at the same venue,” the statement read.
“Participating athletes are requested to collect their running numbers on Friday, November 7th, 2025, at the Mumias Complex Primary School starting from 9:00 a.m.”
“We apologise for any inconveniences that this change might have caused and wish athletes all the best as they prepare to participate in the meet.”
Following the Mumias opener, the circuit will shift to Thika Stadium on January 16-17, before heading to Nandi county at the Eliud Kipchoge Sports Complex on March 14-16 and wrapping up the open meetings at Afraha Stadium on March 27-28.
