Sammy Kariuki scored a solitary goal when Nairobi County defeated Kakamega County to win the Football Amputee Federation of Kenya title during the national trials staged at the Eldoret Polytechnic.
In a national trials that attracted six counties, Nairobi remained the only unbeaten team as the federation picked 25 provisional players ahead of All Para Games that will be staged in Accra, Ghana in September.
The Joshua Simiyu, with the victory will have the majority of players into the team.
“We had a mission and the mission was to win. We have achieved it and that will make us earn more slots into the national team,” said Simiyu.
In semifinals, it was an easy go for the winners who beat Uasin Gishu 3-0after recording a 1-0 win over Kaimbu and 4-0 beating of Bungoma in pool A.
Kakamega defeated Kiambu 4-3 in post match penalties following barren draw in the normal time in the first semifinal.
In pools, kakamega garnered four points with a 1-1 draw against Uasin Gishu and a 1-0 win over Bomet.
The technical director Hashim Kamau, while naming the team, said that the 25 will be reduced to 15 that will travel to Ghana.
“we have a solid team and a strong. With the trials, each player was determined to earn a slot that gave us a good chance to get the best,” he added.
