Nakuru Chairman’s Cup: Esther Karuga tops

Ladies dominated the Nakuru Chairman’s golf Cup on Saturday at par 73 Nakuru golf club.

Top two positions were claimed by ladies headed by home golfer Esther Karuga and Josephine Wangari coming second on count back in the Bank of Africa sponsored tournament.

Playing off handicap 8, Karuga carded 39 stable ford points to win the Karori Kahutho, the two term Chairman of Nakuru golf club.

Karuga faced off with Wangari with the latter losing on count back.

Handicap 14 player also collected 39 stable ford points before Fr. Joseph Ngure emerged the Man winner with 38pnts.

Teeing off at handicap 18, Ngure collected 38 stable ford points to beat Bhavesh Sumaria.

Muigai Nyambura playing handicap 19 was the lady winner with 36 points followed by Ruth Kooro in second place.

Kitale club’s John Kamais was the gross winner with 34 points as Junior winner was taken Melvin Steinmann with 35 points.

Home player Humphrey Kuria with 22 points won the first nine prize as J. Kimondo was second nine winner with 20points  as nearest to the pin was taken by I. Kiptoo before longest drives prizes were taken by Daniel Kiragu and Susan Ikua in men and women respectively.
