Namwamba flags 76 athletes ahead of Africa Beach Games in Tunisia

Sports Cabinet Secretary, Ababu Namwamba, officially flagged off Team  Kenya to the second edition of the Africa Beach Games in Hammamet, Tunisia.

Speaking during the event at the Weston Hotel, the CS reiterated the government’s unwavering support and confidence in the team’s abilities.

“As you go forth to represent our nation, I want to assure you of the government’s total support. I have no doubt you will deliver an outstanding performance.”

He revealed that the government had invested Sh 170 million in the team’s preparations and that is why  they were put in camps in both  Malindi and Nairobi. 

NOC-K  Deputy President Shadrack Maluki and executive member Paul Otula also extended their good wishes to the athletes, saying they have confidence the athletes will make the country proud.

Brian Ziruel, the captain of the 3X3 U23 Basketball men’s team, expressed his gratitude for the support received. 

“Representing your country internationally is a dream come true for every basketball player. The presence of the Cabinet Secretary at this early stage to bid us farewell and flag us off is a tremendous motivation for the team.”
