El Masr striker Cliff Nyakeya was on target as national football team Harambee Stars edged out Zambia’s Chipolopolo in an international friendly match played at Nyayo National stadium on Friday evening.
Nyakeya was on target for Francis Kimanzi side Stars in the 2-1 win ending the long winning spell against Zambia since 2001
Kenya found back of the net in the 20th minute when Zambia defender Mwape Tandi cleared in his own net for a 1-0 lead before Nyakeya doubled the score in the 37th minute before Emmanuel Chaluba scored a consolation for the visitors.
Harambee Stars head coach Francis Kimanzi also lauded his players and was quick to point out that he will face a “good” selection headache when the team faces Comoros in two legs of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in November.
