Second seed scrabble player Allan Oyende has set his eyes to defend his Scrabble Association of Uganda tournament, the Nile Scrabble tournament set for Jinja Uganda this weekend.
Oyende who recorded victory at the Scrabble Kenya Nairobi tournament on Sunday will be seeking another victory in Uganda after winning the same tournament last year.
The Stima Club player, who won 16 out of 18 games to emerge victorious said that he will be chasing the Jinja title after enjoying a good run in both Kenya and Uganda.
“I have played well in both Kenya and Uganda and heading to Jinja, I want to do my best to emerge with good points,” said Oyende.
He added that this will be his last tournament this year as he plans to lead team Kenya to retain the East, Central and Southern Africa Scrabble (ECASA) championships come next year.
“I want to extend my dominance in the tournament and as a defending champion, it comes with all manner of challenges but that I will overcome,” said Oyende who recorded his second win in the Scrabble Kenya meetings across the country.
