Queens Baton, a recipe for Commonwealth Games- Amina

The Queens’ Relay baton’ the Commonwealth torch has finally landed in kenya ahead of the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmigham, Great Britain.

Today, the Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed launched the Queens Relay baton at the Nairobi Arboretum with hopes of many Kenyan teams making the cut into the quadruple Games.

CS Amina pointed out the important role the Baton plays in complementing the country’s aspirations, renewed hope and resilience

“The Baton Relay carries with it an ideal and topical theme of sustainability, youth and inclusion,” said Amina.

Also present was National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOCK) president Paul Tergat, who led a high key delegation of athletes and federations officials to the event, urged all sports personalities to reflect deeply on the outlined values.

Kenya is the eighth destination amongst the 72 Commonwealth Nations that will receive the Baton before it eventually gets to Birmingham.

The Baton will be taken to Ngong Hills, Kajiado County on Wednesday.
