Ronny Lusigi defeated Mwaniki Mwanzia to win the president of the Electronic Sports Kenya Federation held today in Nairobi.
Lusigi garnered 23 votes against Mwanzia’s 4 votes in the first ever E-sports Kenya since it was founded in May 2018 as a national sports federation.
A total of nine elective seats were contested with 29 delegates casting their votes.
“We shall approach the Armed Forces and ask them to start recruiting gamers into the forces the same way they do with other sports such as athletics, football, and boxing,” Lusigi said.
John Odhiambo was unopposed in the first vice president’s position while Anne Odhaimbo defeated Celine Lerosion for the second vice president’s position with 22 votes against five.
Hellen Kairu was elected treasurer with 20 votes against Lydia Bisieri with 7.
Brian Ochanda was voted the athlete’s representative with 24 votes against Moses Koech’s 3.
Omarsadik Mohamed was elected secrtray general unopposed while Elisha Kiplagatwon the organizing secretary title also unopposed.
Michael Lulu is the corporate member representative while John Shimaka was confirmed as the life member representative.
