Ryan Ogam fires Harambee Stars to victory against Burundi in World Cup qualifiers

Ryan Ogan Rabok came off the bench to score a winning goal for Kenya’s Harambee Stars against Burundi in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers played in Burundi this evening.

With the hosts playing ten men following a red card on Caleb Bimenyimana in the second minute, the Benni McCarthy side capitalized on the numeric to win by 1-0.

Bimenyimana fouled Kenya’s goalkeeper Brian Okoth who was substutted by Bryne Omondi and the wait for a away winning goal came in the 72nd minute when Ogam, who replaced Austine Odhiambo converted from captain Michael Olunga’s pass, scoring from the 18 yard line.

Despite the win, Kenya will not qualify for the world cup and relegated Burundi and The Gambia to third on the log with 12 points.

Next Stars will play Ivory Coast on Tuesday in Abidjan
