Reigning Berlin 10km champion Daniel Simiu Ebenyo won the San Silvestre Vallecana 10km ran this evening in Madrid, Spain.
As world marathon champion Ruth Chepngetich won silver in the women’s race.
The New Year’s race was good for Simiu who has dominated many races and closing on a high note.
The Family Bank half Bank half marathon champion clocked 27:41 ahead of Faniel Eyob (28:08) and Kenyan born tuned American Paul Chelimo completing the podium.
In women race, Chepngetich returned to the race in two years in a row finishing second in 31:50 behind Ethiopia’s Yulemzerf Yehualaw Densa (31:17) as Alesia Zarbo was third in 33;00
