Tuwei Confirms Key Course Adjustments Ahead of Chepsaita Cross Country Run

With twenty days remaining before the third edition of the Great Chepsaita Cross Country Run, organizers have introduced several changes to make the course more athlete-friendly.

Athletics Kenya President Jack Tuwei, while on a fact-finding mission at the venue on Sunday, November 15th, 2025, said route markers had made significant improvements to ensure both athletes and fans enjoy this year’s event set for December 6th, 2024.

“We have made a few changes on the course to ensure that it is friendly to everyone. The start point has been moved a few metres ahead of last year’s, the curves are not too sharp, and the hills are not as steep, among other adjustments. This is a great improvement and very different from 2023 and 2024,” said Tuwei.

He emphasized that the goal is to avoid inconveniencing anyone attending or participating, ensuring the smooth running of the event.

Tuwei added that the upgrades also include better-placed call rooms, accessible athlete reporting areas, and a strategic position for the Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya (ADAK). He stressed that results management remains a priority to avoid errors in athlete positioning and final standings.

He dismissed fears of a last-minute rush, saying the course management team is nearly done with preparations and is on schedule.
