Allan Oyende registered 100% to win the Scrabble Kenya championships held at Skynest County Hotel in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County ahead of World English-language Scrabble Players Association Championship (WESPAC) in Goa, India next year.
The Stima Club member set a new record in the history of Scrabble tournaments in Kenya won with six games up against second placed Manase Otieno who won 12 matches out of 18.
“This win was magic. I have never had such great game, winning all matches was not easy. I always take each game like a final and have to play well,” said Oyende.
Otieno of Bomet County was a distant second 6 points back as Nairobi’s Bernard Koyyoko who closed the podium on 11 wins ahead of club-mate Francis Wachira and standard chartered Martins Mutahi on spread.
