National Super League (NSL) side Ushuer FC has axed 16 players ahead of the new season.
The club’s head coach James Omondi said that out of 30 players they had last year, 16 have been axed and hoping to sign other ten in the team’s rebuilding exercise.
Omondi said the Number the axed player performance had gone down also expired contracts.
In the 2019/20 season that was interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic, Ushuru ranked sixth, 10 points behind third-placed Vihiga United, when the league was suspended in March.
Nairobi City Stars, who were relegated with the taxmen in 2016, were top and have finally climbed the ladder to KPL.
Brian Yakhama led the scorers chart with 14 goals with Alex Sunga assisting ten goals.
