Kenyan top female golfer Naomi Wafula won the Tanzania Ladies Opening played over the weekend.
The Dar Es Salaam Gymkhana club championships that brough together women golfers from Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania was a good outing for Wafula who fired five under par 211 for the title in the 54-hole tournament.
The Vipingo Ridge player started on a high note with six under par 66in round one followed by one under 71 and two over 74 in the final round.
She beat top most host player Madina Iddy for the title. When she fired three under 69 in round one, fired one over 73 and one under 71 in the last round for three under par 213.
Former Kenyan champion Mercy Nyanchama completed the podium with 224 with three over in the opening round 75, five over par in the second round 77 and level par 72.
