Yegon wins bronze as Ethiopians control Stockholm marathon

Gilbert Kollum Yegon was the best  Kenyan runner when he finished third at the 2019 Stockholm Marathon ran today in Sweden as Ethiopians took charge.

Yegon finished third timing 2:11.57 behind winner Nigussie Sahlesilassie 2:10.10 from Ethiopia before compatriot Tefesa Delegen came in second position timing 2:11.40.

As Yegon won bronze, another Kenyan Mathew Kapsaat was in 4^th timing 2:12.48 and Shadrack Kipkogey was 5^th in 2:13.43.

It was another win in women’s race as Aberash Fayesa won the race in 2:33.38 ahead of Japanese Haruka Yamaguchi (2:34.04) as Mikalena Larson completed the podium in 2:36.32.
