Kenya’s Harambee Starlets hammered Bright Starlets of South Sudan 15-1 aggregate to move to the second round of Africa Women’s Cup of Nations qualifiers.
After beating them 8-0 in the first leg, they scored 7-1 in today’s return leg played at the Nyayo National stadium to qualify and will be taking on thw winner between Uganda and Ethiopia next month.
In today’s match Captain Mwanahalima Adam and substitute Jentrix Shikangwa bagged a brace with Janet Moraa Bundi, Neddy Atieno and Lydia Akoth scoring a goal each for Charles Okere coached side as South Sudan’s consolation came from Kenyan based Amy Lasu for Shilene Booysen.
The skipper was on target in the 35th minute when she converted a penalty and doubled in the 45th minute for 2-0 into break.
On resumption, Bundi made it 3-0 with Shikangwa scoring the 4th and secured a brace with back to back scores for 5th.
The hosts then scored a consolation through Lasu but Otieno was on target to seal the victory.
