Kenyan top seed Patrick Nderitu Gitonga took over the leadership of ongoing East, Central and Southern Scrabble championships at Baobab college in Lusaka, Zambia.
In the second day, Nderitu toppled day one leader Philip Mugisha and second placed Edgar Odongkara to second and third places respectively as Allan Oyende maintained his 4th position before hosts Paul Kalumba came in 5th position.
With two Kenyan players in top position, the word warriors have taken the lead hoping to defend their title targeting a hat-trick.
