Reigning world 10,000m bronze medalist Agnes Jebet Tirop successfully defended her title as Aldamalak won the men’s World 10km Bungalore Road in India.
After running to a course record last year, Tirop won the race with more than two minutes off her course record that stood at 31:19 in 2018.
The former world cross country champion won in a photo finish against Ethiopia’s Letsenbet and Senbere Teferi in 33:55. It was an all Ethiopian as Aldamalak Belihu won the men’s title timing 27:56 ahead of Mande Bushenei (28:03) before Birhamu Legese completed the podium in 28:23.
