Champions KCB and GSU dominate KVF quarterfinals at Nyayo

Champions KCB and General Service Unit (GSU) dominated their opponents in day one of Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) National League Nyayo Indoor Arena stadium today.

Women champions KCB defeated Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) in straight sets of 25-10, 25-16 and 25-13 as they chase to defend their title.

KCB reaffirmed their dominance, putting KDF in check with an authoritative straight-sets win.

In other matches, it was an easy win for former champions Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) who edged out Prison’s Nairobi in straight sets of 25:16, 25:13 and 25:14 as other former champions and last year finalists Prisons Kenya stunned Kenya Army with similar sets at 25-14, 25-19 and 25-13 while Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) beat Post Bank in 3-0 (25:11, 25:22 and 25:18).

In men, GSU were too good for KAPU with a strong statement, delivering a commanding 3-0 victory in their best-of-three series opener. GSU was in full control throughout, needing just one more win to advance in 25–19, 25–20 and 25–17.

Former champions Kenya Prisons Outlasts Kenya Forest Service (KFS) staging an incredible comeback t 3 – 2 at 18–25, 25–16, 32–34, 28–26 and 15–13.

In another match, KDF beat Equity Bank in a four-setter encounter at 25–23, 17–25, 25–20 and 25–19.

Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) overpowered Trailblazers in straight sets of 25–19, 25–16 and 25–22.
