Jackline Barasa, the Kenya Volleyball federation (KVF) under 20 team head coach has announced the squad ahead of Women’s African Nations Championships set for next month in Cameroon.
The August 2nd to 12th championships in Yaoundé, was officially unveiled KVF National Executive Committee (NEC) met yesterday, where the championship will act as the continental qualifier for the FIVB 2026 U21 Women’s World Championship?
Barasa, the former KCB middle blocker will be assisted by Luka Kariuki, while Bala Conceptor will serve as the team physiotherapist.
Kenneth Tonui was named Team Manager, and KVF Secretary General Ismail Chege will double up as the Head of Delegation
The team will feature 23 players and one international referee, selected from clubs and institutions across Kenya.
Kenya will be seeking to improve after finishing 4th last year after losing to Tunisia in the semifinals at 3-0(25-12, 25-14, 25-22) then lost to Algeria in the bronze medal playoff (3-1: 25-20, 22-25, 25-15, 25-15).
