Olympic Games 3,000m silver medalist Faith Cherotich and double world 1,500m champion Timothy Cheruiyot will lead team Kenya at this year’s World Athletics Championships set for Tokyo, Japan.
The duo are among the 58 athletes selected yesterday by Athletics Kenya during a rigorous National trials at the Ulinzi Sports Complex ahead of the global event set for September.
According to the federation, the top two finishers in each discipline earned an automatic ticket, provided they met the qualifying time.
The World Championships is set for September 13-21, with Kenya looking to add to the 171 medals they have won in the history of the competition.
