Hosts Tanzania was held to a barren draw against Central Africa Republic (CAR) in their last pool B match of the ongoing African Nations Championships (CHAN) played at the Benjamin Mkapa stadium in Tanzania this evening.
Taifa Stars, under Hamad Suleiman coach-ship were leading the pool on 9 points while pointless CAR lying at the bottom, the former topped the pool with ten points to command the pool after three straight victories
CAR denied Tanzanians a chance to score, that was the first time in the tournament that hosts failed to score.
Coached by Sebastian Ngato, CAR collected a point having lost their first three matches and avoided finishing empty-handed in their maiden appearance.
