FKF Cup champions Nairobi United came from behind to draw with NEC in their opening round of CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round played at the Hamz stadium in Nkivubo, Kampala, Uganda.
The National Super League Champions, making their maiden appearance at the continental championships drew 2-2 with NEC ‘yesteray ahead of their return leg in two weeks time.
The Kenyan side scored first through Enock Machaka after beating NEC keeper Benjamin Ochan as the teams went into break with Nairobi leading 1-0.
On resumption, Cromwell Rwothomio headed home the equalizer for 1-1 in the 80th minute then Paul Mucureezi converted from the sport nine minutes later to give home side a 2-1 advantage but Substitute Shami Kibwana scored to equalize in the 84th minute for a 2-2 final whistle.
