Six Kenyans have entered their list to compete at the 7th leg of Diamond League in Doha, Qatar.
The low turn out for Kenyans at the Doha on Saturday June 20 is associated with majority of them competing at the national trials cum Commonwealth Games trials to be staged at the Nyayo National stadium.
Athletics Kenya will be hosting the national trials from Thursday June 18th to Saturday June 20th to select at least 50 athletes for the Commonwealth Games that will be staged in Glasgow, Scotland.
The Kenyans will compete in the 5,000m women and 3,000m steeplechase men. In the 5,000m women, Cynthia Chepkurui will be taking on compatriots Mercy Jepng’eno and Nelvin Jepkemboi.
In the steeplechase men, double Commonwealth Games water and barriers silver medalist Abraham Kibiwot will be up against Geoffrey Kipkemoi Kirwa and Amos Serem.
