Fresh from representing kenya at the All Africa Golf Championships in Egypt, John Lejirma and Deaflympic Games golf bronze medalist Isaac makokha have the lead at the penultimate of kenya Amateur Strokeplay golf championships at par 72 Vipingo Ridge golf club in Kilifi.
With the tournament set to end tomorrow where the champion will earn the slot to Magical kenya Open, Makokha and Lejirma will be facing off with third placed Sammy Mulama and defending champion Adel Balala for the final round.
Makokha, the 2022 Deaflympics bronze medalist, remained at the top of leaderboard after garnering a gross score of 227 while Lejirma came from 6th position to 1st position. Mulama garnered a gross score of 228.
The 47 out of 76 players who made cut after the second round of the tournament proceeded to the third round, the final round will be played tomorrow.
The players will also be contesting for Kenya Amateur Golf Championship points, World Amateur Golf Ranking points and the overall prize money of Kshs 115,000 which is the maximum limit for amateurs.
