Agnes Jebet targeting a win at Bengaluru

Agnes Jebet Tirop will be on the starting lineup for this year’s 11th edition of Bengaluru 10km race in India on Sunday.

The former world cross country champion enjoys her personal best of 31:00 set during last year’s Tilburg in Netherlands.

The all surface runner will be taking on fellow Kenyan Pauline Kamulu and Caroline Chepkoech Kipkirui

But the Kenyan trio will face off with Ethiopian world half marathon champion Netsanet Gudeta. The Ethiopian comes to this race with second fastest time of 31:35 that she got at Ottawa in 2017.

Kamulu will also be seeking to create history as she is fresh from finishing second in women’s 3,000m flat at the Doha Diamond League earlier this month. The 24 year-old won bronze at the 2018 World Half Marathon Championships in a personal best of 1:06.56.

Kipkirui heads to Bengaluru 10K race with a personal best of 31:58 that she got at Mobile, United States in 2016.

The trio will be looking to lower the course record of 31:58 that was set by Ethiopian Wude Ayalew in 2010.

Two more Ethiopians will also be on the start line led by Sanbere Teferi and Zeineba Yimer
