World 10km record holder Agnes Jebet Ng’etich will lead top athletes when Athletics Kenya will be staging the national Cross country championships cum trials ahead of the world cross country championships in Belgrade, Serbia.
The national championships at the Kenya Prisons Staff Training College, Ruiru will bring together over 500 athletes in search of three slots ahead of the championships on March 30th.
Representing Central Rift, Ng’etich will seeking to maintain her top form at the trials and will be up against 2018 Youth 1,500m Olympics champion Edinah Jebitok.
Others are the 2018 Valencia 10km champion Sandrafelis Chebet, Betty Chepkemoi, Faith Chelimo, Mercy Jepkorir.
In men, three-time World Half Marathon champion Geoffrey Kamworor will be up against 2019 African Games 5,000m champion Robert Kiprop, 2019 Croatia Half marathon champion Samuel Kiplimo, 2019 Police 5,000m champion Ernest Kimutai and Naibei Kiplimo.
Former world half marathon record holder Kibiwott Kandie headlines the Kenya Defence Forces alongside KDF cross country champion Peter Mwaniki and Dismas Lokira.
