Alex Matata and Ejgayehu Taye crowned RAK half marathon champions

Kenya’s Alex Matata and Ethiopian Ejgayehu Taye were the winners of the 18^th edition of Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) half marathon held today at the United Arab Emirates.

Matata claimed victory in the men’s race, clocking a personal best of 59:20, edging out Ethiopia’s Gemechu Dida (59:25) and fellow Kenyan Isaiah Lasoi (59:26) coming third.

In women, Taye clinched the title in 1:05:52 followed by Kenya’s Judy Kemboi to second at 1:06:34 with compatriot Jesca Chelangat (1:06:53) in third.
