Alex Matata and Ejgayehu Taye crowned RAK half marathon champions

Kenya’s Alex Matata and Ethiopian Ejgayehu Taye were the winners of the 18th edition of Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) half marathon held today at the United Arab Emirates.

Matata claimed victory in the men’s race, clocking a personal best of 59:20, edging out Ethiopia’s Gemechu Dida (59:25) and fellow Kenyan Isaiah Lasoi (59:26) coming third.

In women, Taye clinched the title in 1:05:52 followed by Kenya’s Judy Kemboi to second at 1:06:34 with compatriot Jesca Chelangat (1:06:53) in third.
