Kenya will be seeking to retain the East, Central and Southern Africa Scrabble Association (ECASA) championships that start tomorrow, Friday April 18th 2024 in Nairobi, Kenya.
Last year, Patrick Gitonga Nderitu led Allan Oyende and David Kimani to sweep all podium positions when the championships were held in Gaborone, Botswana where Kenya retained the title.
The three championships has attracted 50 p;layers drawn from five nations in the battle for the regional title ahead of Africa Scrabble Championships come September.
According to the draw released today, Nderitu will not be defending the overall title but former champion Allan Oyende and Willy Mwangi will be up to fly the Kenyan flag.
Other top Kenyans include Bernard Amuke, Onani Magwanga, Richard Okechi, David Kimani among others.
