Former Kenya sevens captain Humphrey Hayange and former New York marathon champion Tecla Loroupe have been appointed to the Kenya Academy of Sports Council Board.
Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed today appointed the duo in a Gazette Notice dated September 24 for three years.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 35 (1) of the Sports Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Sports, Culture and Heritage appoints Humphrey Kayange and Tegla Lorupe to be members of the Board of the Kenya Academy of Sports Council, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 21st September, 2021, ” read the statement
In August, at the Olympic Games, Kayange was appointed to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Athlete’s Commission for a four-year team while Lorupe formed Tegla Loroupe Peace Foundation, before becoming a UN ambassador for sport in 200
