World 1,500m champion Timothy Cheruiyot has been included in the final squad of Olympics track and field team as Athletics Kenya named the final squad for Olympic Games to be staged in Tokyo, Japan.
Despite finishing in 4th position during the national championships cum trials at the Kasarani stadium, Cheruiyot will represent the country replacing Kamar Etyang, who was omitted from the team after failing to meet the anti-doping rules.
Etyang was second during the trials behind champion Charles Simotwo in the 1,500m final at the national trials, had been in doubt for the Games since he had not undergone the three mandatory out-of-competition tests as required by the AIU.
