Athletics Kenya has postponed the opening leg of track and field weekend meeting set for December 1st to 2nd at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu City.
With athletes setting the pace for the Olympic games in Paris, France 2024, the federation said that they weekend has been moved to the weekend of 8th to 9th at the same venue where the event coincided with the inaugural Great Chepsaita Cross Country Run which will be held on December 2 in Uasin Gishu County.
The two-day event will feature sprints, middle distance, field events and relays. Some of the events earmarked for the meeting are 60m, 100m, 100m hurdles, 110m hurdles for men, 200m, 400m, and 400m hurdles. Others are— 800m, 1, 500m, 3, 000m, 4x100m relay, and 4x400m relay.
Other events will be the long jump, triple jump, shot put, discus, hammer, and javelin (both men and women), according to a statement from AK.
