Benson Omalla ditches Gor Mahia for Al Safa

Gor Mahia striker Benson Omala is set to leave the country to play for Lebanese side Al Safa SC after guiding his side to claim the Kenya premier league title.

The 20223/2024 golden boot winner has opted to go professional for the second time in his career, having previously had a stint at Swedish club Linkoping City.

The 21-year-old striker will be replaced by new signing Gideon Bendeka from Congo on a two-year contract.

On their social media pages, Al Safa welcomed the Kenyan saying “Welcome Benson Omala to Serenity Club.”

Omala’s departure comes after an impressive season where he netted 19 goals, clinching the FKF Premier League Golden Boot—a title he narrowly missed the previous year despite scoring 26 goals.

However, Gor will miss the services of Omala who was a key player at the CAf Champions league preliminaries starting this Sunday against Sudanese side El Merreikh.
