Bernard Amuke: We expect large turn-out in Bondo tournament

Word Warriors, the national Scrabble Kenya team will be sharpening their skills ahead of World English Language Scrabble Players Association Championships (WESPAC) in both senior and Youth championships.

The players, especially those in the Kenya Team will descend to Bondo Town for Scrabble Kenya tournament this weekend at Pride Hotel for the two-day encounter in the Western.

With the children in the holidays, a huge turn out is expected in the Open and intermediate sections and the proximity to the border, players from the Uganda mighty take part.

S.K chairman Bernard Amuke is optimistic the tournament will attract large number of players

“I am very excited about this Bondo tournament. It will be the first in the Western conference and so we expect some good numbers. It will also provide the youth and our Premier players to practice for the Youth Cup and WESPAC respectively. Those playing the Interbanks and WASCO games will also have an opportunity to play before their annual sports fests.” said Amuke.

The tournament is part of the selection events for team Kenya to ECASA and PANASA.
