Seed 7 player Bernard Koyyoko was crowned the champion of Kiambu Scrabble Kenya champion that came to an end yesterday.
Koyyoko won 13 out of 18 matches to record his maiden win this year ahead of 2025 East, Central and Southern Africa Scrabble (ECASA) championships.
The champion started the two day tournament that started on Saturday to Sunday on a bad note, losing to Onani magwanga before recovering with a win against Francis Wachira, then Cosmas Mochere and Tony Ochola then lost the second and third games to Stanley Njoroge and Willy Mwangi.
He managed to hold to various wins before landing the 4th loss to Philip Mutinda in game 9th and another loss to Patrick Litunya.
The second position went to Patrick Miriti as Litunya was third with Mwangi 4th and Richard Okech Okechi, Magwanga followed as top seed and grand master Allan Oyende dropped to 7th overall.
Mutinda, Ochola and Patrick Nderitu Gitoga were in positions 8, 9, and 10th respectively.
