Two time world 1,500m champion Asbel Kiprop has quit on track and ventured into rally championships.
The besieged track master is currently serving a ban after the Athletics Integrity Unit banned him for anti-doping rule violation with use of Erythropoietin (EPO).
On his official twitter account @kipropAsbel, the former Olympic champion.
I’m ready to begin again in a sport that doesn’t have doping conspiracy. I will be patient again to be able to Champion. I will be climbing this ladder hoping to learn the next game. #Motorsport
The same message was relayed on his facebook page while posing with rally driver coach Abdul Sidi. He wrote: Abdul Sidi Coach in next Sport. Hope it works out. #Motorsport coming soon.
He communicated the same to a whatsapp group called Sports Plus Agenda, the forum that many athletes communicate and address their issues.
He wrote: “Guys I will be venturing into Rally racing. I will have resiliency hope & determination that athletics have thought me. I will humbly begin like a learner. What will drive me there is what I learned in athletics.” He wrote.
He went ahead: “I have come to learn that Sports is not only about athletics but every sportspersoson is an athlete. Like I was doubted when I was in STD 7 If I would be capable of becoming a world class athlete… I still believe I will overcome fear & inexperience in my next Sport. I will champion with time. Thank God there will be No EPO Conspiracy there.
