Bett, Chebet win silver at the Cinque Mulini cross country

World under 20 3,000m silver medalist Leonard Bett and World cross country junior champion Beatrice Chebet won silver at the 89th edition of Cinque Mulini ran today San Vittore Olona in Italy.

Bett, who failed to defend his title finished the race second benidn the champion Melak Nibret from Ethiopia.

The 20-year-old Bett, who won the 2020 edition finished second timing 28:58 with Nibret taking the title timing 28:57 with two time world 5,000m champion Edris Muktar (Ethiopia) was third in 28:59.

Muktar won the title in 2013 and in 2015.

In women race, Chebet, just like Bett, finished second behind Ethiopian Tsehay Gemechu. Chebet, who has iminated local cross country championships, timed 18:56 while Gemechu won in 18:53.
