Kenyatta University (KU) and Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) will be chasing their second Kenya University Sports Association (KUSA) rugby sevens series title this weekend.
The two day event- Saturday and Sunday- at MMUST grounds, has attracted top teams as KUSA secretary General Joseph Sandagi said the competition will be stiffer.
KU, popularly called Blak Blad won their first title in Meru title two weeks ago after thrashing The University of Nairobi (UoN) side Mean machine.
In MMUST, KU is pooled alongside Kenya College of Accountancy (KCA) and Daystar University in pool C.
Another title chase are hosts, who are also chasing the second title after winning the series opener in Mombasa after beating hosts Technical University of Mombasa (TUM).
MMUST leads pool B with Kabarak University and Moi University.
Sandagi said the tournament will be stiffer compared to the past meetings due to the number of teams that have so far registered.
“We expect a tough competition comparing the teams available for the meeting. We are also expecting more teams to register before the series kicks off on Saturday morning,” said Sandagi.
