Former Shangai 10km champion Emmanuel Bor and upstart Evelyn Chirchir were crowned the champions of 2019 Safaricom Kisumu 10km road race.
Bor the 2019 Imenti South 15km road champion won the men’s title in 28:32:70 former Discovery Kenya champion Josephat Kipchirchir (28:53:30) and Betwel Ruto rounding off the podium in 29:01:50.
Bor admitted that the race was so turf especially running in low land areas.
“The race was too fast though the course was flat not so tiresome. The weather condition was not so good but the organization was good,” said Bor.
Dam Tot Damloop winner Chirchir won the women’s title timing 32:30:10 ahead of Irene Kimahiji (32:52:40) and Judith Jepngetich (33:19:40) to second and third places.
