Captain Andrew Amonde, Collins Injera, Billy Odhiambo and William Ambaka will be returning to the Olympic Games when they were named in the final Shujaa squad ahead of the games set for this month.
Shujaa, the national rugby sevens head coach Innocent ‘Namcos’ Simiyu named the final squad with Amonde handed the armband and will be deputized by Injera.
The four, who were in the Rio Games returns in the Olympics team while their counterparts Dennis Ombachi and Bush Mwale are in the reserve team.
Simiyu noted that during the preseason tournaments they tried out different combinations and strategies.
Kenya Sevens will face 2016 Rio Olympics bronze medallist South Africa, United States of America (USA) and Ireland in Pool “C” of their 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games sevens rugby tournament.
Kenya qualified after winning their first Rugby Africa men’s sevens title since 2015.
