Champions Butali takes the lead

Reigning Kenya Hockey Premier League champions Butali Warriors have taken the lead following their win against Strathmore Gladiators on Sunday.

The champions under head coach Dennis Owoka thrashed the students 7-0 at while former champions Kenya Police regiostered wins in their matches.

The win was good for Butali, who tied at the top with Wazalendo, Jaguars and Greensharks on nine points.

Kenya Police rallied from 3-0 down to bring down the high-flying Western Jaguars 5-3 in Kakamega on Saturday, while Greensharks had downed Sailors 1-0 on Labour Day.

Police are now sixth in the log with four points, one behind fifth-placed Parklands, who forced a 2-2 draw against 2012 champions Nairobi Simba.
