Algeria demolished hosts Uganda in their opening and second pool C match played at the Nelson mandela Stadium in Kampala, Uganda.
Three goals from Ayoub Ghezala, Abderrahmane Meziane and Soufiane Bayazid handed the north Africans a 3-0 win against their hosts to extend their third win against the East African giants.
Ghezala opened the scoring in the 36th minute as the teams went into break with Algeria’s 1-0 lead.
On resumption, Meziane made it 2-0 in the 76th minute before Sofiane sealed the 3-0 victory for the Desert Foxes against Uganda Cranes.
The Cranes coach Morley Byekwaso will now face South Africa while Algeria’s Madjid Boughera play Niger who lost 1-0 to Guinea.
