Akshay Chandaria and Sandeep Matharu were the winners of the Nairobi District Foursome golf tournament that came to an end on Sunday at the par 71 Muthaiga Golf club.
The tournament paved way for the start of Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC) series that tees off this weekend at the Sigona Golf Club, the Sigona Bowl.
The foursome tournament, the curtain raiser for the Kenya Golf Union (KGU) calendar was played at the Muthaiga Golf club with Sigona pair of Chandaria and Matharu beating Vet Lab’s pair of Isaac Makokha and Jackson Mwangi 2-up for the 2023 title.
With the tee off of Sigona Bowl, Eldoret long hitter Aron Kitur will lead a host of north rift golfers for the series opener on Friday to Sunday in a 54-hole showpiece as they seek early points for 2024 Magical Kenya Open.
