Bungoma and Busia Counties will be staging their Chapa Dimba Na Safaricom tournament this weekend in various venues across the counties.
This follows last weekend’s meeting where Kakamega and Vihiga hekld their championships across the two counties.
There will be 153 matches in 51 venues on Saturday and Sunday, November in Busia, Butere-Mumias, Teso, Mt. Elgon, and Bungoma.
The matches, which are being played in a round-robin format, will determine which teams qualify to the next phase of the tourney, with the overall winner in both the boys’ and girls’ categories set to represent Western Region in the National finals.
Legend FC, Super Eagles, Matende, Spitfire, and Mumboha Secondary are among the teams that are through to the next round after the preliminary rounds of matches played in Kakamega and Vihiga last weekend.
The overall winner of the tourney in both the men and women categories will walk away with KES 1 Million. An All-star team will also be selected and will take part in a training camp in Spain, courtesy of a partnership between tournament sponsors Safaricom and Spain’s top tier league, La Liga.
