National cross country champion Sheila Chelangat and three time world cross country champion Geoffrey Kamworor reclaimed their National Police Cross country titles held today at the Ngong racecourse.
Representing Central, Chelangat won senior women’s 10km race timing 33:34.5 ahead of former World 3,000m steeplechase champion Hyvin Kiyeng (NPC), Edith Chelimo (Nairobi) and World 5,000m silver medallist Margaret Chelimo (Eastern).
Kiyeng came second in 33:39.5 with Edith completing the podium in 33:40.5 as Chelimo came 4th in 33:48.7.
Returning in action after road action, former world half marathon record holder Kamworor won the race in 29:22.3 beating Josphat Kiprotich and Casinos Masinde to second and third places in 29:52.6 and 30:13.0.
Top athletes will be featuring in the national Cross Country Championships set February 15th.
