Four Kenyans Mercy Chepkemoi, Sheila Jebet, Andrew Kiptoo Alamisi and Ishmael Kipkurui Rokotto will begin medal hunt for kenya on the opening day of the world under 20 Athletics Championships set for tomorrow (Tuesday 27th August) at the Estadio Atletico de la Videna in Lima, Peru.
Chepkemoi and Jebet will be chasing the 5,000m in the women category while Alamisi and Kipkurui will be hunting for the 5,000m titles.
The women race will be start at 1:30am Kenyan time while Lima will be 5:30pm while the boys will start at 1:55am kenyan time and 5:55 Lima time.
in other events on the opening day, Sarah Moraa and Janet Jepkemoi will be competing in the 800m heats at 9:05pm Kenyan time and 1:05pm Lima time.
In the Boys, Kelvin Kimutai Koech and Phanuel Kipkosgei will be in action in the two lap race.
There will be 3,000m steeplechase heats for women where Diana Chepkemoi and Sharon Chepkemoi will be at the starting lineup at 12:00 midnight and 4:00pm Lima time.
